Traditional Japanese doll techniques
Kimekomi dolls are traditional Japanese dolls, best known from Hina dolls. They are made by covering a wooden body with beautiful kimono-style fabric. This technique creates charming and delicate dolls. Kimekomi dolls are said to have originated in Kyoto around 1730–1740.
ひな人形に代表される木目込み人形。木製のボディに着物のような和柄の布を貼り付け、愛らしい人形が作られます。1730~40年ころ京都で生まれたといわれています。
